With over 20 years of experience as a school psychologist, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with families and school teams across Nebraska and Colorado. I hold an advanced degree in school psychology and a Master’s in Dyslexia, equipping me with specialized expertise in supporting diverse learners. Throughout my career, I’ve taught reading interventions and social skills to students, helping them thrive in the school environment. I started SPEDucation Support with a clear mission: to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence they need to advocate for their child’s education effectively.
Over the course of my career,
I’ve facilitated more than 1,000 eligibility and IEP meetings.
At SPEDucation Support, we understand that navigating the complex world of special education can feel overwhelming, especially for parents who are simply trying to do what’s best for their children. Founded by Lynse Schmidt, a school psychologist with over 20 years of experience, SPEDucation Support was born out of a deep-rooted desire to empower parents, those unsung heroes, to cut through the noise and gain clarity in a system that often feels daunting and unapproachable.

A Personal Connection
I bring a deeply personal understanding of special education,
Lynse’s journey began not only as an expert in special education but also as a mother of three boys, two of whom received special education services. She knows firsthand the nerves that can accompany meetings and evaluations. Her personal experience, combined with her extensive professional background, revealed a painful truth: the special education system often leaves parents feeling lost, daunted by jargon, and at the mercy of schools that control the narrative. Parents deserve better. Parents deserve clearer guidance and support.
I know how it feels to
advocate for you child.
I'm committed to ensuring every parent feels equipped and confident in their journey.
As a mom of three boys, including two with dyslexia, I understand just how overwhelming the special education process can be. That’s why I’m dedicated to making it easier for families like yours.
My mission is to break down complex systems, demystify the jargon, and provide practical, actionable guidance. Whether it’s navigating IEPs, evaluations, or support services, I’m here to help you approach every step with clarity and confidence.
