The Heart Behind the Mission
Guiding You Through the Complexities of Special Education
Meet Lynse Schmidt
I'm Lynse Schmidt, a non-attorney special education advocate and licensed school psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I've supported families from both inside the school system and as a parent navigating it personally.
With over 20 years of experience and a passion for empowering families, I'm here to guide you through the complexities of special education.
I understand what it's like to sit in IEP meetings feeling confused, dismissed, or unsure of what to do next. I know the weight of wondering if your child is getting what they need—and the frustration of not knowing where to turn for clear, honest guidance.

What I Believe
My approach is built on these core values:
Parents Know Their Child Best
You are the expert on your child. My role is to help you understand the system so you can advocate confidently and effectively.                     Â
Collaboration Over ConflictÂ
The goal is not to fight the school—it's to create understanding, clear communication, and meaningful support for your child.
Clarity Before Action
Before making decisions or taking steps, you need to understand what's happening and why. Clarity reduces stress and leads to better outcomes.  Â
Ethical, Informed Guidance
I provide honest, professional support that respects both families and schools. No pressure. No guarantees. Just clear, helpful guidance.
Plain English, Not Jargon
Special education is full of acronyms and confusing language. I translate it all into terms that make sense—so you can make informed decisions.
You're Not Alone
Navigating special education can feel isolating. Whether you're in public school, private school, or homeschooling, you don't have to do this alone.     Â
My goal is simple: to help you understand what's happening, know your options, and move forward with clarity and confidence.Â
My ApproachÂ
SPEDucation Support is designed to meet parents where they are—whether you're just starting to have concerns, dealing with an unclear IEP, or trying to understand if your child's learning differences are being addressed appropriately.
I work with families in public schools, private schools, and homeschool settings. Support looks different in each environment, and part of my role is helping you understand what applies to your situation—and what doesn't.
I don't attend meetings to fight on your behalf. I attend to support you, help clarify discussions, and ensure your voice is heard. I believe in empowering parents with knowledge and preparation so they can participate confidently in their child's education.
